Christmas 2017

Christmas for me is one of the best things that get to happen in the year, although this one was a bit different. You may ask what was different about it. While every year there is dinner set before us, this time me and the girls helped to cook and do the preparations, of course not forgetting Aunty Deborah the Chef Chief.

Christmas to me was good and my best part of the day is dinner time. I really enjoyed the food and it was great. While we did games as well but they were not my favourite but I did some.

This Christmas was a wonderful thing for me having been away for some time [at college] and coming back and having dinner with everyone was great.

Dinner is my best part but present time is my favourite.

Helping Aunty Deborah was nice because I learned how to do the stuffing. This also helps us appreciate what is set before us.

Christmas was great!!      Just great!!

GLO Camp 2017

Thank God we reached GLO safely without any problems. We had a warm welcome and registered. We were put in groups named with different translations of ‘Seek’ from various languages of Zambia.

Each morning at 05hrs there was rise and shine which was kind of tough for those being late [to bed] than doing the right thing. Food was very nicely prepared although there were complaints about not being satisfied.

Each devotion was nicely shared by preachers and the following are things each of us learnt individually:

‘Seek ye first’ means that it is a deep desire to know God more. ~ Matthews W

Materialism is the accumulation of material things in the world which we actually don’t need but because of selfishness, greed and boastfulness we desire them. ~ Matthews N

How to seek God’s kingdom by trusting in him and to serve him and he asks us questions like ‘why is the Bible important to me?’ ~ Paul

When I seek God’s kingdom first, everything I want or need will be added unto me and also I am worth of it through Christ Jesus. ~ Elvis

On Friday was the talent and drama day which we enjoyed the most.

Sunday School Party

On Saturday was the Sunday School party and prizegiving at Bethel. Our children regularly attend Sunday School and on this occasion ejoyed a time of fun and games, food and the awards. The prizes we given by Mr Bunda, an elder from Bethel. The Sunday School superintendent is Hilda Hakioma.

GLO Camp

On Monday, ten of our youngsters from Ipusukilo joined friends from Bethel and other churches at GLO Camp in Ndola. Pray that they would enjoy their time and be challenged in their spiritual lives.

Sira's baptism

We were pleased to witness Sira's baptism on Sunday at Bethel together with her friend Joy. She was baptised by Ian Campell and later joined the fellowship at Bethel. Sira is active in the youth group and enjoys singing in the Ladies Choir.

 

Sunday singing

We continue to host singing at Ipusukilo on the first Sunday of the month. Youth from Bethel and sometimes Amano join the youngsters of Ipusukilo in our chota. Here is a video clip of a song from this Sunday in Bemba.
